Australia's first bulk-buy home energy storage solution
Climate Action Newcastle is excited to have partnered with SunCrowd to bring Australia's first bulk-buy home energy storage solution to the Hunter in 2016.
You may recall CAN's hugely successful community bulk solar project in 2008. This time, we're talking complete energy storage solutions including (but not limited to) batteries, as well as options for new panels, inverters and deals for 100% green power from the grid.
On the 23rd June, CAN hosted the Newcastle launch at City Hall, with a diverse array of prominent speakers, including:
- Simon Sheikh – Founder of Future Super and former Managing Director of GetUp!;
- Duncan Jinks – Climate Action Newcastle representative, board member of Climate Action Network Australia and sustainability specialist
- Su Morley - Convenor of Climate Action Newcastle
- Chris Cooper - Founder of SunCrowd and community energy leader.
The plan is to make home energy storage easy, accessible and great value for the people of Newcastle and the Hunter Region, to help drive the further uptake of renewavles.
Choosing an energy storage system can be complex. SunCrowd's community bulk-buy campaign will use our combined purchasing power to negotiate with suppliers over the next 6 weeks and provide us with technologies options and solutions to make our decision easy.
