Study Finds 97% Consensus on Human-Caused Global Warming

A new survey of over 12,000 peer-reviewed climate science papers has found a 97% consensus among papers taking a position on the cause of global warming in the peer-reviewed literature that humans are responsible.

UQ Global Change Institute lead author John Cook said the finding proved there was strong scientific agreement about the cause of climate change, despite public perceptions to the contrary.

About 100% Ready

A vast majority of Australians support a move to 100% clean energy. But a lot also think we’re not ready yet.

We're here to bring you real stories from the clean energy frontline that prove Australia is 100% ready to start making the switch. You’ll hear from workers, farmers, small businesses, big businesses, inventors, investors and community leaders; all of whom are seeing big benefits for themselves, their communities and Australia from the work that’s going on around the country.

When you listen to these people, the message is clear: clean energy creates installation, assembly and maintenance jobs in regional areas, it offsets energy price rises, it gives farmers income without damaging the land, it provides returns to investors, and creates a new sector that diversifies our economy and keeps the money right here in Australia.

And, unlike coal seam gas, it does all these things without polluting our environment or contributing to climate change. So sit back, grab a cup of tea and enjoy hearing from the people who are leading the future.

You might be surprised at how far they’ve come and how ready we are to start the switch to 100% clean energy - right here, right now.

Save Our Solar Rally: 6th June 2011

When: Monday 6th June 11:30am

Where: Outside the office of Tim Owen: 26 Bolton Street NEWCASTLE

The Solar PV Industry has teamed up with community groups to organise a number or rallies around NSW next week to show the new O'Farrell Liberal Government the extend of community anger of their disastrous decision to kill off the NSW Solar Industry.

As most people are now aware, the State Government is proposing to introduce retrospective legislation to reduce the legislated 60c/kWh Feed In Tariff for existing solar customers.

This is a massive breach of trust with the people of NSW, not just those with Solar. Retrospective legislation in this case would undermine the legitimacy of every decision the Government makes with people asking the obvious question: Can they be trusted?

If that was not enough to warrant coming out in support of the solar industry and renewable energy, the solar industry now faces an uncertain future. In fact more than 5000 people currently emplyed in the industry are at real risk of losing their jobs.
